My Discovery

Mozzarella is probably my favorite cheese so naturally mozzarella sticks are a firm favorite of mine. They are so simple to cook even with the freezing parts which can take a while.

I love to cook the mozzarella sticks in the airfryer as they are perfectly gooey and just the right amount of crispness on the outside. Compared to using an ordinary fryer the coating is much lighter and flakier and less dense, soaking up much less oil, resulting in a much more enjoyment from each bite.

Step 1

Freeze Mozzerella sticks

Wrap them in clingfilm and put them into the freezer until they are solid.

Step 2

Whisk egg

Thoroughly whisk the large egg in a bowl.

Step 3

Combine ingredients

Combine breadcrumbs, panko, parmesan and dried parsley into a mixing bowl.

Step 4

Dip Mozzerella sticks

Dip the sticks in the flower, then egg, then the crumb mixture.

Step 5

Freeze for another hour

I know this means you'll have to wait.. but it'll be worth it I promise!

Step 6

Preheat airfryer

Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 4 minutes.

Step 7

Lightly spray with oil

This will give them that crispy outer that we're looking for.

Step 8

Get ready to air fry

Move the sticks into the airfryer basket.

Step 9

Air fry for 4 minutes

Step 10

Shake, then Air fry for another 4 minutes

Or until slightly melted and crispy

Step 11

Serve and enjoy
